Our
society separates itself from death as much as possible. Our healthcare
delivery system is geared to sustaining and prolonging life. There are many
organizations charged with the task of eradicating disease. Years ago, when
death occurred, the family was responsible for carrying out the funeral
procedures. This responsibility shifted from the family to funeral
directors.
This disassociation produced a lack of understanding, or perhaps a lack of
education, relative to the topic of death. No one likes to think about death
or plan for it. By preplanning your funeral you relieve your family of the
task of making major financial decisions during a period of great stress and
grief - a time when people are not thinking clearly and may not know what to
do because your wishes are unknown.
Pre-planning your funeral can be very informal and as simple as writing a
note or sharing your wishes with a family member. More formal arrangements
in the form of a pre-need contract can be setup. We offer assistance in
determining which is best for you. A pre-need contract can be set up with us
which can be pre-funded through life insurance, a bank trust agreement, or
other methods.
